Reflections on Leadership, Governance and Politics: Featuring Tom Ridge and Ed Rendell

October 1, 2019 - 7:30pm

Governors Ridge and Rendell, a Republican and a Democrat, were elected to two terms in the state’s highest office, and each built a national following. They will discuss their own experiences, the current political climate, and what today’s leaders should do to advance the interests of the American people in a rapidly changing, highly competitive and sometimes unfriendly world. Their discussion will be moderated by Dave Davies, who has covered politics and government from Philadelphia for more than thirty years. Mr. Davies is senior reporter for public radio station WHYY, with studios on Independence Mall, and also is a regular contributor and sometimes host for NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross.

This evening is presented as part of The American Experience Distinguished Lecture Series which will celebrate its golden anniversary in 2020, and is co-sponsored by The Dick Thornburgh Forum for Law and Public Policy, the Office of the Chancellor and the University Honors College.
